Lewisham Town Centre

The heart of the borough, Lewisham Town Centre has seen significant redevelopment over the last decade to enhance the town centre and unlock new homes and jobs. 

Lewisham town centre improvements

The Council secured £24 million to revitalise Lewisham town centre (made up of £19 million Government funding, combined with an additional £5 million from the Council). Works are underway at pace to refurbish Lewisham Library, rejuvenate Lewisham Market and improve the high street. A key transport hub

The town centre is eight minutes from Zone 1 (London Bridge) by train and connected to Canary Wharf by the Docklands Light Railway. It is also earmarked for a new London Underground station as part of the planned Bakerloo Line Extension.
