The heart of the borough, Lewisham Town Centre has seen significant redevelopment over the last decade.
The Lewisham Gateway project has delivered over 1,000 new homes, 50,000 square feet of workspace and a new cinema, as well as opening up new public space and pedestrian routes into the town centre.
Led by Landsec, plans are also being developed for a mixed-use redevelopment of the shopping centre, including significant housing growth.
Having secured funding from the Government’s Levelling Up fund, the high street and market are set to undergo a £24 million rejuvenation, creating a greener town centre and a more pleasant environment for residents, visitors and shoppers.
A key transport hub, the town centre is eight minutes from Zone 1 (London Bridge) by train and connected to Canary Wharf by the Docklands Light Railway. It is also earmarked for a new London Underground station as part of the planned Bakerloo Line Extension.
